Ways to Donate

Help Homestretch Families with Everyday Needs

Every donation goes a long way to meeting the needs of Homestretch families as they work to overcome the effects of poverty and achieve self-sufficiency. Some examples of how your contribution can make a difference in people’s lives:

Cost of a child’s medical exam – $75
A week’s worth of groceries for a family – $100
School supplies for four children – $150
Computer class for a client – $250
Two new mattresses for a family – $800
Much needed dental care for a client – $1,000
Rent and utilities for a client family’s apartment – $2,000
A year’s scholarship for one child attending pre-school at Kidstretch – $15,000
Whatever amount you give, you can be sure your donation will be put to work right away to help homeless families secure permanent housing and gain the knowledge, skills, and hope they need to achieve self-sufficiency.

Donate by Credit Card or by Virtual Check
Make a donation online using our secure donation system. You may donate by credit card, personal check, or business check. You can choose to make a one-time donation, or make your donation recurring.  If you select recurring, you’ll have the option to choose the frequency of your giving. You can also designate your gift for our General Operating Fund or other programs. Finally, you can make your gift in memory of or in honor of a special person in your life by selecting Tribute.  You will be able to provide further information about your honoree and how you would like them to be notified of your gift in their honor.

Donate Through the United Way or Combined Federal Campaign
Donations can be made to Homestretch through United Way at Designation Code 8480 or through the Combined Federal Campaign (CFC) Designation Code 13070.


Give Through the Catalogue for Philanthropy
Homestretch is a member of the Catalogue for Philanthropy. Donations can be made to Homestretch on the CFP website.


Will your employer match your gift?
Many companies will match employee gifts to nonprofit organizations. Some will also provide a financial contribution for employees who volunteer. Check with your company’s HR department to see if they have a matching gift program.

Donate Gifts of Stock

Have you included Homestretch in your estate plans? By including Homestretch in your will, you will be leaving a legacy of ending homelessness for local families.


Non-Cash Gifts
The families in Homestretch are homeless and have few resources. As they progress through our program we provide them with everything they need to make a home. We depend on donated items or new items to help keep client homes furnished with essential items. Contact nmonday@homestretchva.org for a wish list.
